Through its acquisition of Crux Agribotics, VDL Groep has further strengthened its position in Foodtech, one of the growth markets for this family-owned industrial company based in Eindhoven. Crux’s ‘smart robot’ uses data and AI (artificial intelligence) to classify, sort and pack fruit and vegetables. In the process, Crux is also contributing to the automation of global fruit and vegetable horticulture. Robotisation is helping growers save on labour costs and reduce food waste. The data generated is also analysed to further optimise the cultivation process. Crux Agribotics is based in Eindhoven and has 60 employees.

For the sake of our security, it is imperative that we rapidly strengthen our armed forces. To this end, investing in the European and Dutch defence industries is crucial. In order to scale up national production capacity, the Dutch Ministry of Defence is leasing a number of production halls from VDL Groep in Born. The lease agreement is being signed today by Minister Brekelmans and VDL President & CEO Van der Leegte.

Last Thursday we had the pleasure of celebrating a remarkable milestone: the 25-year work anniversary of both Ilona and Marco!

Dutch greenhouse trade magazine ‘Onder Glas‘ has published a new article about the SortiPack® at one of our customers.

Recently we installed this SortiPack® Cucumber on site at a large cucumber grower.

On November 12, the KAS, Install & HLC working group of AVAG Greenhouse Technology Center visited our office. 

It was a great success, Canada’s foremost event and connection point for commercial growers of crops produced in a controlled environment: The Canadian Greenhouse Conference in Ontario.

Dutch AgTech company Crux Agribotics is launching its SortiPack® Cucumber robot line globally. The launch is captured in a video of the automated handling line in operations at a cucumber grower.

Despite the bad weather, we did not hold back from having a great family day.

In addition to developing the SortiPack® for beef tomatoes, (mini-)cucumbers, and sweet pointed peppers, Crux Agribotics launches a SortiPack® for chicory. The leafy vegetable which consumers can vary endlessly with in the kitchen and which, not unimportantly, contains lots of vitamins.
